Hi there, your hard work is much appreciated creating this resource. My story is familiar, saw the original broadcast as a child and it has stayed with me ever since. I am glad the wolves are still running for so many others also. Many thanks.

Thanks for a great website. I bought the series on DVD just before Christmas, having not seen it since it first aired, and watched it with my daughter. She was transfixed and I was transported back to my childhood. As magical and menacing as ever.
Your interview with Geoffrey Larder is excellent, by the way. Charles was always my favourite character, and Geoffrey gave such a generous and heartfelt interview. It’s a shame he’s done relatively little over the years. Do you know what he’s been up to lately?

Hi Russell, thanks for your comments. Glad that you enjoyed watching the show again. Someone else did the interview with Geoffrey and there is no further information, expect he is enjoying retirement!.

This series was with me through childhood and my late mother and I were very fond of it. I think after it there was the Children of Green Knowe. Did they ever make a series of The Midnight Folk. Great website wish I had found it ages ago. Thanks for the very happy memories.

Hello. I’m Gary. I was flummoxed and flabbergasted to find this wonderful sight. I love, The box of delights, I have literally seen it dozens and dozens of times. I know the entire script by heart and I love to watch it every Christmas eve if I can. A blu ray release would be nice consisting of the six episode series and also an uninterrupted full version. Great to see others that share my love of, The box of delights. Got to go, time and tide and buttered eggs…

I watched The Box of Delights in 1984 as an 11 year old and have watched it pretty much every year since at Christmas. My two daughters now watch it with me every year and they love it. We have just returned from a short break in Worcester and I used your excellent website to arrange a surprise tour of the locations nearby, which included a ride on the steam train from Bewdley to Arley. They both loved it!

Just found this awesome site – great work. Watched this on BBC1 when it first aired in 84. Bought the omnibus VHS from the BBC store the next year and watched it every Christmas since (switching over, of course, to the DVD a few years ago). Now living in the US and I watched this again with my family yesterday evening.
Last night in Texas….the wolves were running…

Fantastic page dedicated to “The Box of Delights”. This was one of my all time classics produced by the legendard Alan Seymour who produced “The Chronicles of Narnia” as well.
This was also the first time I met Devin Stanfield and I had a huge crush on him as a 10 year old..so maybe that was the first time I found out about love. Sorry for being soppy!!!
